Nervous System Definition The nervous system is a complex network of cells and tissues that coordinates and controls various bodily functions. It is divided into two main parts: Central Nervous System (CNS): This consists of the brain and spinal cord. The CNS processes information and sends out instructions. Peripheral Nervous System (PNS): This includes all the nerves outside the CNS. The PNS connects the CNS to the rest of the body and transmits signals between them. Together, these systems help in regulating everything from sensory perception to motor control, allowing the body to respond to internal and external stimuli efficiently.
